Can you take a few minutes to email Victorian Government MPs and candidates and seek their support?

The easy-to-use tool on this page can automatically send your message to those who might be especially influential in helping to secure the funding as we approach the November State Election. Your email will go directly to local MPs Richard Riordan and Darren Cheeseman, candidates Andrew Katos and Hutch Hussein, and Ministers Harriet Shing, Ros Spence, Jacinta Allan, Steve Dimopoulos and Shaun Leane.

We have included some text you can use, but your message will have more impact if it is personal. It would be great if you could take a few minutes to express what the Surf Coast Aquatic and Health Centre will mean to you.

What will the centre include?

  • Two indoor warm water pools for learn-to-swim activities, hydrotherapy, older adults exercise and leisure
  • A 25-metre seasonal pool, with provision for it to be enclosed in the future
  • Accessible change rooms and amenities
  • Gymnasium and multipurpose exercise areas
  • Allied health suites
  • All adjoining Wurdi Baierr Stadium in Torquay North

Council has committed $5.75 million to the project, alongside $20 million from the Australian Government and $13.5 million from the Victorian Government.

Our community has long called for an aquatic centre to support the health and wellbeing needs of our rapidly growing population.

Please help Council advocate this project and make the most of an extraordinary opportunity.
